You may have heard of the original (unofficial) novelisation of Grim Fandango created by MeddlingMonk many years ago, or you may even be lucky enough to have a copy saved to your computer. Since it was published, it has become increasingly hard to find.
However, leading up to the game's 10th anniversary, MeddlingMonk has completed a thorough revision of the novel, which is now available here on the site for download.
In other news, we have given the site a much needed update. New content includes pages such as Compatability which should help with compatability issues with the game (such as running it on Vista), Where to Buy which we aim to update with a worldwide list of stores selling Grim Fandango and the Collecting page which features scans and information about various Grim Fandango collector's items.
We also have some new features we're adding, including email notification when a comment is made on one of your fan creations, and a jukebox with music from the game to use whilst browsing the site.

The novel is amazing. I had some misgivings at first but within two pages I was completely hooked. The novel takes actual dialogue and scenes from the game, spices them up with stunning narration from our hero, and ties it all together with facts that were never part of the game but can certainly be inferred, all making for an incredible thrill ride. As a fan of the noir genre, I can definitely say that Mr. Frederick deserves to be a published author if he's written anything else this good.
Now, when I die, bury me in my straight-leg britches,
Put on a box-back coat and a stetson hat,
Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my watch chain,
So you can let all the boys know I died standing pat. |

I've gotten up to the middle of Year Three, and, as predicted, it is still amazing. AMMAK, please, stop with the Eff-You Lucas Arts stuff; we get the point. Chances are, they won't follow Lucas Arts' example, considering they are better at understanding their customers, obviously.
Look, I told ya we don't have any kitty hats today.
Ya have to wait until Tuesday, that's "Kitty Hat Day."

The Novel...omfg...its amazing. I love it and I haven't even finished the first year yet. It's so more indepth than the game (as mucha s I hate to say that). We get to see the game through Manny's view rather than the 3rd person we play as.
